Founder and Editor-in-chief of the First Edition of The Global Arabic Encyclopedia in 30 Fine Volumes. The author initiated the proposal of producing a grand general encyclopedia in the Arabic language, and it was financed by late Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz. For decades from 1990 till 2025, Ahmed Alshuwaikhat was the Director General of the enterprise. Besides, he was the Editor-In-Chief of the founding edition (1990-1996) and the early digital version (2002).
The Global Arabic Encyclopedia is the largest contemporary encyclopedic targeting the general readers. It includes more than 24,000 main titles and more than 150,000 subtitles and some 15,000 images and maps, covering different disciplines of knowledge. The print work comprises 30 volumes of 17,000 pages of more than 10 million words in total, average volume size is 566 pages. More than 1,000 institutions, researchers, writers, translators, editors, proofreaders, technicians, and consultants from Saudi Arabia and the Arab World and abroad contributed.
The project has been appraised by UNESCO as well as intellectuals and educators.

He suffers a mix of feeling due to his Galatians over the betrayal of his wife, the advent of zealot religious fanatics and chaos because of lack of control. A mix of the absurd, the real, and the dynamics of power.
